Admissions Associate
Reports to: The Director of Admissions

Main Function:
The responsibility of the Admissions Associate is to manage all aspects of the Admissions process and travel to promote/market Riverview School
Essential Job Functions:
Independently create and execute a travel schedule (at least 80 hours per month) to promote the school. This includes research and evaluation of event/conferences professional organizations, advocates, educational consultants and special education attorneys who work closely with our students and families. Identification and outreach to potential new sources of applicants as well as regular interface with current student referring professionals.
Student Recruitment: Independently plans and implements student recruitment programs and related activities; participates in developing effective recruitment strategies; responsible for recruiting activities and follow-up; visits and participates at high schools, conferences, workshops and other events to recruit students; Provides information, facilitates campus visits, conducts and supervises campus tours etc.
Manage the prospective student’s admissions process for all Riverview programs from initial inquiry through acceptance decision and enrollment. Based on the information provided, determine what the necessary steps and follow up information needed to evaluate fit for the prospective student and Riverview School. In addition to working with the families, this includes interpretation of neuropsychological and related school reports, discussions with professionals and service providers of the prospective student.
Interview and tour with prospective student/family, often working with the student to get through their anxiety around a new situation/environment
Manage student visits including schedule creation, family communication and interaction with all staff related to providing the best possible situation for the visitors, current students and staff
Provide insight to Admissions Committee prior to acceptance of prospective students to facilitate the final decision on acceptance
Act as liaison during Opening Weekends to greet new students and families (summer and fall programs) as well as consult with staff when a new student is having difficulties settling in
Advise Riverview staff regarding accepted students prior to their start date to ensure a smooth transition
Conduct virtual and in-person information sessions for perspective families and professionals. Includes providing answers to family’s questions and navigating when those questions become too ‘private’ to discuss in the general session. Tours include engaging with current students who will provide the participants a view to their own child’s potential at Riverview
Ensure all information on visiting and accepted students obtained during the admissions process is accurate, up to date and readily available via the admissions database
Work with management and newly enrolled families to resolve issues when a new student is struggling or issues of parental dissatisfaction occur with the schools approach or programming.
Update, create content and provide feedback on marketing materials, processes and procedures, and recruitment efforts.

Candidate Requirements:
1. Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree and wide-ranging experience in the field of admissions and or Special Education.
2. Demonstrates a clear understanding of learning disabilities and willingness to learn the integrated curriculum, and middle, secondary, and transition programs offered at Riverview School.
3. Experience working in an admissions office or have a certification in Moderate Special Needs / experience working with adolescents with learning disabilities is preferred.

The Job:
